MUSEUM OF THE ARCTIC AND ANTARCTIC
Located in a former church. Try not to bump your head
on the model plane hanging near the entry (you may
not see it in the gloom). The plane represents that
flown by the famous Soviet pilot Chkalov when he flew
from Moscow to America via the North Pole. And the
big stuffed polar bear represents why you shouldn't
wander around the North Pole without a good supply of
pointy sticks.
Ulitsa Marata 24-a. Metro: Mayakovskaya. Open 10:00-
16:00 Wednesday to Sunday. Tel: 311 2549.
